Over 30,000 passengers expected daily through DXB Terminal 3
DUBAI: With the summer travel season in full swing, Emirates is preparing for one of its busiest weeks of the year.
From 26 June to 30 June, more than 30,000 passengers are expected to depart daily from Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3.
The airline is advising all travellers to plan their journey carefully to avoid delays and ensure a seamless travel experience.
Pre-flight checklist
Travellers flying with Emirates are urged to arrive at the airport three hours before departure, pass through immigration 90 minutes before their flight, and be at their designated boarding gate one hour prior to take-off.
To simplify their journey, passengers are encouraged to download the Emirates App, which allows them to manage bookings, check in online 48 hours before departure, view meal options, pre-order hot meals in Business Class, and even select entertainment options for the flight. Digital boarding passes can also be accessed directly through the app.
Early luggage drop-off
Passengers can check in and drop their bags at Dubai International Airport the day before their flight. This service is free of charge and allows passengers to proceed directly to immigration closer to their departure time.
- For all destinations: Luggage can be dropped 24 hours before take-off.
- For US-bound flights: Bags can be checked in 12 hours before departure.
Alternate check-in options
To beat airport queues, Emirates customers can check in at the Emirates City Check‑In and Travel Store, located in ICD Brookfield Place at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Operating daily from 8:00am to 10:00pm, this location allows check-in and baggage drop-off from 24 to 4 hours before the flight.
The facility features self-service kiosks, staffed counters, and even a robotic check-in agent named Sara, offering a futuristic start to any journey.
At-home check-in
Travellers based in Dubai or Sharjah can take advantage of the Home Check-In service. A check-in agent visits the customer’s residence, hotel, or office to process check-in and collect luggage. This allows passengers to arrive later at the airport with just their hand baggage.
- Must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
- Free of charge for First Class customers and Emirates Skywards Platinum members.
Getting around Terminal 3
Navigating Dubai Airport's massive Terminal 3 is made easier with multiple transit options:
- A complimentary train connects Concourse A and B.
- A shuttle bus between Concourse A and C operates 24/7, every 20 minutes, with a 20-minute travel time.
- Connection desks are clearly marked for easy access.
- Emirates buggies are available on request for First Class customers.
Dubai Airport buggies, commonly called Dubai Taxi, are free for all, with priority for People of Determination, families, and the elderly.
Baggage guidelines
Passengers should pack with care and comply with Emirates' regulations.
- Power banks must be carried in hand luggage only.
- Smart bags are permitted in the cabin if the battery is removable and the device is switched off.
- E-cigarettes, e-pipes, and portable incense burners containing batteries are allowed only in carry-on baggage and must be properly protected to prevent activation.
Duty-Free pre-orders
To save time onboard, Emirates customers can pre-order Duty-Free items on EmiratesRED.
- Orders can be placed 21 days to 40 hours before flight departure.
- Orders are delivered directly to the seat inflight.
